I decided to start writing down these ideas I have so that someday I can look back and remember, "What I was thinking!"
I have a pretty complicated life and I wonder when is it going to get better? I'm a happily divorced single mom of two boys who mean the world to me, but yet the challenges I face raising teenage boys have really taken it's toll on me.
My eldest son is 14 yrs. old and I can't wait for the day when the light bulb turns on in his head. This week, I've been on vacation from my job and have been home. Yesterday, my eldest son T didn't come home from school until like 7:30pm! He wasn't answering his cell either, which I called like 15x! I was going crazy with worry. I called his friend Marcos whom I got his number for T's MySpace page (T always changes his password, but I always figure it out...he's not very good at it.) Marcos was not very forthcoming with any information. Finally, I called the police and just as they arrived, T came home...stoned! I knew that when T left for school in the morning, he had something peculiar in this folded up piece of paper he was holding very carefully. He wouldn't let me see it either.
As a mom who has gone through the pot smoking stage as a teenager, I know that it really isn't as bad as most people make it out to be, but the difference is if the individual has a bit of the obsessive/addictive personality element in them, then it absolutely can become a big problem. I think T may think it's a bit of a cool factor when you can tell people that you've been an addict and now you're clean. However, he's not pass the addict thing yet.
